On August 22, Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province held a conference to review the search and collection of the remains of volunteer martyrs and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed during the war period in Cambodia and in the country in the period of the XXIV period (dried season 2024 - 2025).
In the XXIV period (the 2024 - 2025 dry season), 88 martyrs' remains have been searched for and collected (64 remains in Cambodia, 24 remains in the province; in which the identities of 2 martyrs' remains have been identified).
In Cambodia, the K92, K93 teams coordinated with authorities and armed forces at all levels of the 6 provinces: Kam Pot, Kep, Koh Kong, Shihanouk, Ta Keo and Kampong Speu of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Cambodian veterans who have participated in the fight against the Vietnamese army, the elderly, and prestigious people in the community; organized into groups to go to each hamlet and village to mobilize people to provide information about martyrs' graves, burial and sacrifice places.
Based on the archival documents provided by the armed forces and people, the unit has grasped 137 information with over 106 search, gathering locations and conducted mechanical and manual excavation of over 19,920 holes, equivalent to 26,000 m3 of land. In total, 64 martyrs' remains were searched and collected, of which Team K92 collected 13 remains; Team K93 collected 51 sets of remains, identifying 1 martyr's remains.
In the province, Teams K92, K93 have organized surveys and searched for and collected martyrs' remains in 8 old district-level areas (Go Quao district, Giong Rieng, Kien Luong, Ha Tien city/Kien Giang province and Tri Ton district, An Phu, Tinh Bien town, Chau Doc city/old An Giang province). The total has collected 24 martyrs' remains, identifying 1 martyr's remains.

Although the search and collection of martyrs' remains in Cambodia and the province has encountered many difficulties, the Steering Committee 515 of the province has directed the Provincial Military Command to promptly have policies and measures to closely lead and direct, encourage officers and staff of the tap doan to strive to overcome difficulties and hardships, determined to search and collect, and soon bring the martyrs' remains back to their homeland.
During the implementation of the task, agencies and units organized visits and presented gifts to the Cambodian government, armed forces and people worth more than 545 million VND; examined, treated diseases, and provided free medicine to 960 Cambodian people.
In addition, the Provincial Steering Committee and a number of enterprises organized a visit to present gifts to the K92, K93 Teams and a number of units in Cambodia with a total value of more than 240 million VND. Thereby contributing to maintaining the long-standing traditional relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia, creating more favorable conditions for the task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Cao Minh Tam - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command - acknowledged and commended the results and achievements that the Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province achieved in the 2024 - 2025 dry season.
In the coming time, the search and collection of martyrs' remains will become increasingly difficult. To successfully complete the task, he suggested that the Provincial Steering Committee 515 should continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State's policies and guidelines on the search and collection of martyrs' remains; effectively organize search, collection and identification of missing martyrs' remains. At the same time, pay attention to caring for and ensuring timely and complete policies for the forces performing the task; do a good job of military diplomacy, people's diplomacy, strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the two countries of Vietnam - Cambodia in general, An Giang province and the provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia in particular.
At the conference, the Provincial People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups and 12 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the search and collection of martyrs' remains in the period of the XXIV ( dry season 2024 - 2025).
