On June 3, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that the Provincial People's Committee is developing a plan to organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
With the theme "The spirit of the August Revolution and the September 2 National Day is immortal", Ba Ria - Vung Tau is expected to participate in many central-level activities such as: exhibition of socio-economic achievements; online contest "Pride of Vietnam"; creating encouragement paintings....
The locality also organizes propaganda activities in the area with diverse forms; organizes the inauguration and groundbreaking of key projects; visits to the provincial martyrs' cemetery; celebration meetings, special art programs...
Of which, it is expected that 3 key projects in the area will be inaugurated and started on September 2, including: the inauguration of the Thuy Van road renovation project (Vung Tau city); started construction of the main road project of Vung Tau city (from the intersection of DT 994 coastal road to 3/2 road) and the project to upgrade and expand Hoi Bai - Phuoc Tan road (from National Highway 51 to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway).
A representative of Coteccons (construction unit) said that package No. 12 of the Thuy Van road renovation project (Vung Tau City) has so far completed about 88% of the total volume. Previously, some items were tested for use since the 30.4-1.5 holiday and received positive feedback from people and tourists such as: Song Ngu Square area, artistic lighting area; check-in bridge...
Currently, about 12% of the project is being constructed by the contractor, mobilizing personnel and machinery to work overtime to ensure progress and quality, committed to completing before July 28 for handover.
The Management Board of regional and specialized agricultural transport projects said that the Hoi Bai - Phuoc Tan road upgrade and expansion project is about 8.46 km long, with a total investment of nearly VND 3,700 billion. Currently, Phu My City is actively clearing land; and the unit is preparing documents to select contractors according to regulations, in order to be able to start the project on September 2 this year.
The Vung Tau City main road project is 2.87 km long, with a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND, assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to the Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board as the investor. Currently, Vung Tau City is urgently clearing the site to prepare for construction in August 2025.
