Chairing a press conference to provide periodic information to the press for the third quarter of 2024 on the afternoon of October 8, Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thieu said that the province has issued a document not accepting the leaders of the Provincial Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. to travel abroad from March 2024.
Mr. Pham Van Thieu added: "I myself signed a document disagreeing with the lottery company's leaders going on a trip since the beginning of the year. There was a specific document, not waiting until now, after there was a lot of information related to the overseas study of some lottery companies recently."
Mr. Thieu said that the reason for not agreeing was because Bac Lieu was still facing difficulties, so traveling abroad while people were still facing such difficulties was not advisable.
According to the document dated February 28, Bac Lieu Provincial Lottery Company Limited has a document "requesting permission for managers and employees to go on vacation in 2024".
On March 8, 2024, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province issued a document signed by Mr. Pham Van Thieu - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - responding to this issue as follows: "In recent times, the socio-economic situation of Bac Lieu province has had many quite good developments, the budget revenue always exceeded the set plan target, in which the company's efforts and important contributions to the common achievements of the province were recognized. Especially the state budget revenue in the area and job creation for workers.
However, at present, the lives of a part of the people in Bac Lieu province are still difficult, there are still many poor households in need of help from the government and the business community.
Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee considers that the overseas tours and vacations of managers and employees of Bac Lieu Provincial Lottery Company are not appropriate. We request that the company create conditions to organize domestic tours for the above subjects."
