On April 28, the People's Council of Kien Giang province voted to pass a Resolution on agreeing on the policy of assigning the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province as the managing agency to implement the Ba Dinh bridge construction project connecting Bac Lieu and Kien Giang provinces.
Previously, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province submitted a document on agreeing on the proposal to assign the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province as the competent authority to implement the project to build Ba Dinh bridge connecting Bac Lieu and Kien Giang provinces.
The starting point is in the center of Vinh Loc A commune (connecting near the end point of the project of the road from Phuoc Long town, Phuoc Long district to Ba Dinh, Hong Dan district). The end point connects with the road along Cai Lon river (in Vinh Thuan district, Kien Giang province).
The bridge length is 320m, the total investment is more than 434 billion VND, the project implementation period is from 2025-2028.
The project aims to gradually complete the transport network of Bac Lieu province, improve the ability to exploit the route from Phuoc Long town, Phuoc Long district to Ba Dinh, Hong Dan district and create conditions to promote socio-economic development of Hong Dan district, Phuoc Long - Bac Lieu province and Vinh Thuan district, Kien Giang province.
Create an inter-regional traffic axis to effectively serve the circulation, transit of goods, economic, cultural and social development, ensuring national defense and security of Bac Lieu and the provinces in the Mekong Delta through the Ho Chi Minh route, Go Quao - Vinh Thuan section and the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway.
The central budget under the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 and the period 2026-2030 will cover construction, consulting, project management costs, and other costs.
The budget capital of Bac Lieu province will cover the cost of site clearance in Bac Lieu province and investment preparation costs.
Kien Giang provincial budget capital will cover the cost of site clearance in Kien Giang province.
