On February 12, the Standing Committee of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee announced that it had agreed on the plan and roadmap for implementing Resolution No. 1365/NQ-UBTVQH15 on "Establishing wards in Phu My town and establishing Phu My city, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province"; at the same time, it agreed on the policy of organizing high-altitude fireworks displays during the Resolution Announcement Ceremony according to the report of the Phu My Town Party Committee.
The announcement ceremony of Resolution 1365/NQ-UBTVQH15 will be held solemnly with a ceremony and art performance program, high-altitude fireworks display to celebrate, under the theme "Phu My City - Aspiration to Reach High". The ceremony is expected to take place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on February 28, with high-altitude fireworks display lasting 15 minutes.
According to Phu My City Party Committee, currently the tasks of implementing Resolution No. 1365/NQ-UBTVQH15 are progressing as planned. In particular, propaganda work, important tasks such as changing names, signs, decoration, urban embellishment and registration, using new seals of agencies and units; procedures to change the name of Phu My Town Party Committee to Phu My City Party Committee; renaming 71 Party cells and Party committees under the City Party Committee... will be completed before March 1, when Resolution 1365/NQ-UBTVQH15 takes effect.
The following contents will be implemented: converting documents of individuals, organizations, and enterprises due to changes in boundaries and names of administrative units; reviewing and changing village names to urban areas according to regulations; strengthening urban management, investing in overcoming unmet urban standards...
Previously, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man signed Resolution No. 1365/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the establishment of wards in Phu My town; and the establishment of Phu My City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, effective from March 1, 2025.
Phu My City was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 333.02 km2 and population of 287,055 people of Phu My town; there are 10 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards: Hac Dich, My Xuan, Phu My, Phuoc Hoa, Tan Hai, Tan Hoa, Tan Phuoc and 3 communes: Chau Pha, Song Xoai, Toc Tien.
