On June 15, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued a document directing the People's Committee of Pleiku city to specifically report on the construction of architectural works in the Hoan Kiem Lake scenic tourism area.
In particular, the report needs to clarify the project approval and appraisal process, as well as the integration of traditional cultural elements of ethnic groups in the province into the design and construction of items in the tourist area.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, the People's Committee of Pleiku City and related units to inspect and evaluate the overall project items at the Sea of Lake scenic spot, especially in terms of architecture.
During the review process, it is necessary to pay special attention to ensuring traditional cultural identity factors such as: gong cultural space, stilt house architecture, typical cultural symbols of Bahnar and Jrai ethnic groups...

Previously, public opinion was stirred up about the construction of a welcome gate at the scenic spot of Hoan Kiem Sea with a total investment of up to 25 billion VND.
However, a representative of the People's Committee of Pleiku City said that this is a comprehensive project that includes many items such as: Greeting gate, electrical system, exhibition house, wooden statue with basalt stone foundation... with a total investment of 25 billion VND. In which, the welcome gate is still the main construction item.
In addition, about 4 billion VND is spent on contingency, construction consulting, project management and supervision costs.
The famous Hoan Kiem Sea is a prominent tourism symbol of Gia Lai province, an attractive destination in Pleiku city.
The Hoan Kiem Sea is located in the "Hoan Kiem Sea - Chu Dang Ya Eco-tourism Area" complex, which has just been added to the list of National Tourist Areas according to the "Overall Planning for Tourism Development of Vietnam and the Central Highlands to 2020, with a vision to 2030".
