Stay active
On the morning of October 31, Mr. Ngo Duc Van - Director of Le Thuy General Hospital said that the flood water had receded to the street, and hospital staff were cleaning up.
Le Thuy District General Hospital has not been able to avoid flooding in recent days, but patient care and treatment have continued as normal. The hospital still receives many patients for examination, hospitalization, and emergency care.
In recent days, because of the flood affecting the entire area, shops are not open, traffic is not available, so the needs of patients and their families are quite high, mainly for food and daily necessities.
To help patients feel secure, in addition to ensuring daily patient care and treatment, the hospital also takes full care of food, living and accommodation for family members.

The hospital's Nutrition Department cooks meals for all staff, doctors, nurses, patients and their families. The hospital also has a plan in place if the department cannot cope, some charitable organizations will support and donate meals, cakes and fruit for patients to eat.
Mr. Ngo Duc Van said: "The hospital has not had any power or water cuts, so all operations are stable."
Also in the state of being "soaked" in the flood, Quang Ninh District General Hospital still ensures stable food and drink for patients.
At noon on October 28, the dining area was flooded and could not be used for cooking. From the afternoon of October 29, the dining area was able to return to normal, serving meals to the entire hospital.
"At noon on October 30, a charity unit came to support the distribution of food to patients, their families and hospital staff, so we feel more secure," said Mr. Nguyen Van Than, Director of Quang Ninh District General Hospital.
Enough medicine and medical supplies
Rising floodwaters have affected several locations of Quang Ninh District General Hospital: Surgery Department, generator, garage, cafeteria, and the roof of the hospital waste treatment facility.
From the afternoon of October 29, when the water began to recede, the staff participated in the cleaning work.
Mr. Nguyen Van Than informed: “In the past few days, there was a small incident when the power went out, so the hospital had to run the generator, the biochemical testing machine malfunctioned. Basically, the hospital ensures enough medicine and medical supplies to serve patients during the storm and flood.”
On the peak day of the flood, the hospital was treating 146 patients. In the following days, there were about 120 patients, not including accompanying relatives. In addition, the hospital also mainly received emergency cases due to accidents during flood and storm prevention. The patients' conditions included broken bones, open wounds, surgery, obstetrics, etc.; there were 2 serious cases that had to be transferred to a higher level.
Although the floodwaters have receded, the roads are still not clear, so there are many cases where patients have finished treatment but cannot return home. The hospital still creates conditions for patients to stay temporarily to ensure safety.
Mr. Nguyen Van Than also advised people: “The environment after storms and floods is often prone to disease. Therefore, people should eat cooked food and drink boiled water, use hygienic food, ensure safety and be proactive in disease prevention, not allowing pathogens to develop, which will affect health.”
