In which, a series of articles: Billion-dollar stone railings in Lao Cai are unusual after storm No. 3 by the group of authors: Nguyen Hoang Long - Cao Van Tuan - Dinh Dai Long (Lao Dong Newspaper) won the C prize.
A series of articles raised the issue of the railing system, sidewalks and trees of the landscape renovation project on both sides of the Red River with a total investment of 17 billion VND from the budget of Lao Cai province being severely damaged, thereby revealing many unusual things.
According to the approved design drawings, the technical requirements are very strict, including: Stone railings are processed from Thanh Hoa monolithic stone; stone mortise and joint, stainless steel units are made of specialized materials. The mortise and tenon linkage must be closed, specialized attachment materials must be checked...
However, the storm has exposed the extremely loose connection between the components. Observation with the naked eye can be seen that most of the stone columns and stone railings do not have stone mortises, or if they do, they are made of glue, not cast in a single piece. It is easy to use your hands to remove the glue layer between the stone mortise and columns and panels.

After Lao Dong Newspaper published the article, the Internal Affairs Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee sent an official dispatch to relevant units requesting clarification.
After that, the investor and contractor's representatives quickly took action to fix the problem, ensuring quality and urban landscape.
