On August 28, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province said that due to the impact of storm No. 5, the whole province had 3 injured people; 30 houses were completely collapsed, more than 8,600 houses were damaged, and had their roofs blown off.
In the field of education, 184 schools were affected, many health stations and cultural works were damaged. Regarding agricultural production alone, more than 33,400 hectares of rice, nearly 7,800 hectares of vegetables, more than 17,600 hectares of forest were damaged; 49,805 urban trees were broken. Tens of thousands of livestock and poultry died.
The storm also damaged many traffic routes, canals, dams, pumping stations, power systems and communications. The whole province had more than 2,500 broken power poles, 42 km of broken power lines, and many damaged transformer stations. Other projects such as office buildings, markets, and shopping malls were also severely affected.
The total damage is estimated at about 1,475 billion VND.

Currently, Nghe An province is mobilizing the "4 on-site" force to urgently overcome the consequences, support people to stabilize their lives, repair schools and medical facilities before the new school year.
