On July 8, according to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, the construction unit coordinated with functional forces to salvage the Thanh Hung 06 ship after it was handed over to the auction winner by the Civil Judgment Enforcement Office of Thuan Nam district in April 2025.

Previously, the ship lost its steering wheel while traveling from Nhon Trach port (Dong Nai) to Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) and encountered big waves and ran aground at the moss field in Tu Thien village, Phuoc Dinh commune.
Since then, the ship has been abandoned and seriously damaged, although it has become a check-in spot for tourists.

On May 30, 2025, the People's Committee of the old Ninh Thuan province approved the ship salvage plan.
The construction unit committed to carrying out the demolition within 45 days, using mechanical equipment such as cranes, trucks, bulldozers, and ensuring safety of the marine environment.
Mr. Tran Nguyen Trung Dung - representative of the dismantling unit - said: "We have cleaned up the remaining fuel in the oil sacks to prevent the risk of environmental pollution.
The salvage will be carried out step by step, in conditions of low tides so as not to affect the marine ecosystem".

According to the plan, the demolition unit will build a system of dykes and accumulating cages around the ship to treat hazardous waste and waste generated during the demolition process.
Thanh Hung 06 ship is owned by Thanh Hung Real Estate Trading Company Limited, with a capacity of 4,563 tons.
After the incident, the enterprise had meetings with the locality about the rescue plan, but due to the high cost and insufficient financial capacity, it could not be implemented.
