At around 3pm on November 28, while Buddhists were working at Linh Xuan Pagoda, they discovered a baby girl left at the pagoda by her relatives. By 5pm that same day, no one had come to pick her up, so the pagoda assigned Buddhists to temporarily look after her.
On the morning of November 29, local authorities came to make a record of the incident. When they discovered that the girl was left behind, she had some personal belongings and a handwritten note with the following content: "Due to family circumstances, I cannot raise my grandchild. I respectfully ask the temple to help me raise and educate my grandchild. She was born on February 9, 2022."
Currently, Kien Quoc Commune People's Committee has announced to find relatives for the child.
Previously, also in Kien Quoc commune (Kien Thuy district), an abandoned newborn baby girl was discovered. Accordingly, at around 6:10 p.m. on November 19, a resident of village 3 of Kien Quoc commune discovered a newborn baby placed in front of his house and reported it to the local authorities. The local authorities also issued a notice to find the baby's relatives. Afterwards, the baby's mother contacted the authorities to get her child back.
