On August 15, information from leaders of Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee (Hue City) said that they are carrying out procedures according to regulations after receiving a newborn baby girl abandoned in front of Duc Son Pagoda gate.
At about 4:30 pm on August 11, people discovered a baby girl weighing about 3kg placed in front of the gate of Duc Son Pagoda. Next to the baby were 2 bags containing clothes, towels, diapers and some items for newborns.
The baby was left with a handwritten letter. The letter stated that the baby was born on August 7, 2026, and also recorded some information related to vaccination.
The letter writer stated that due to difficult family circumstances, not having enough conditions to raise the baby, he hoped that the pagoda would receive and care for him. In addition to the above information, there are no documents identifying the child's identity.

Leaders of Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee said that the locality has temporarily handed over the baby to the Social Protection Center to care for children in special circumstances at Duc Son Pagoda for nurturing during the time of completing the necessary procedures.
The baby girl was taken to Hue Central Hospital for a health check and was determined to be in normal condition.
According to Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee, in the past year, the locality has coordinated with social protection facilities at Duc Son Pagoda to receive 3 cases of abandoned newborns. The children are currently being cared for and nurtured stably.
Previously, on May 29, a newborn baby boy was also found abandoned in front of Vinh Nhon pagoda gate, Phu Xuan ward. The baby weighed about 3kg, still had its umbilical cord and was placed in a carton box.
After being checked at the medical facility, the boy was taken to Hue Central Hospital for examination. Doctors determined that the child's health was stable.
