On June 22, the People's Committee of Ia Kenh commune, Pleiku city, announced that it had announced the search for the parents or relatives of a newborn baby girl abandoned in front of Manh Thang warehouse gate, Nhao 1 village.
According to confirmation from Ia Kenh Commune Police, on the same day, people discovered a newborn baby wrapped in a plastic bag, with the umbilical cord intact, without any documents or identification items.
The baby girl is estimated to be about 1 day old, weighing about 3.7 kg, and in stable health. The child is currently being temporarily cared for and monitored by Mr. Tran Van Quan (born in 1974, residing in Nhao 1 village).
Ia Kenh Commune People's Committee announced that during the posting period from June 22 to 29, 2025, if anyone is the father, mother or relative of the child, please contact the Commune People's Committee to be resolved according to regulations.
After that time, if no relatives come to receive the baby, the local authorities will carry out legal procedures to give birth and organize the care and raising of the baby in accordance with the provisions of law.
In April 2025, Gia Lai Provincial Children's Hospital handed over the abandoned baby girl to her biological mother, Ms. R.L.H.T (residing in Ia Pior Commune, Chu Prong District) in the presence of the authorities.
The family said that the abandonment of the child came from difficult circumstances and a temporary lack of thought. After the incident was brought to the media, local departments and branches have taken action. By the morning of April 17, 2025, the family proactively contacted the hospital to ask to get the baby back and pledged not to repeat the offense.
