On December 23, the People's Committee of My Thanh, Thu Thua district, Long An province announced a search for relatives of a newborn baby boy who was discovered abandoned in front of a temple gate.
Previously, at around 7pm on December 22, at the gate of Long Hoa Pagoda (Hamlet 5, My Thanh Commune), people discovered an abandoned baby boy in front of the pagoda gate. The baby weighed 2.5 kg and was about 1 month old.
Next to the baby boy was a piece of paper with the name of his mother, N.T.N.H., a third-year student who accidentally got pregnant. But due to difficult circumstances, she could not raise the baby and continue studying, so she sent the baby to the nuns at the temple to help raise him.
In the note left behind, the mother also wrote that she would not take the child back and asked the nuns to help raise the child and not send him to another place.
Currently, the People's Committee of My Thanh commune has temporarily entrusted the boy to the nuns at Long Hoa pagoda for care, and has notified them to find the boy's relatives.
