1-week-old baby boy abandoned on a cold night in Yen Bai

    Yen Bai - A 1-week-old baby boy was abandoned on a cold night with a note saying "not qualified to raise a child".

    On January 22, Gia Hoi Commune Police, Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province issued a notice to find the biological parents or relatives of an abandoned baby boy in the area.

    According to information from the commune government, at around 10:30 p.m. on January 21, the family of Ms. Dinh Thi Huong (born in 1970, Minh Noi village, Gia Hoi commune) heard crying on the porch.

    When checking, the family discovered a baby boy about 1 week old, wrapped in a brown blanket, wearing a woolen hat, next to a bag of baby clothes, a box of milk and milk making tools.

    Along with that, a handwritten note was left with the content: "The child was born on January 15, 2025. My family is not able to raise the child. Whoever adopts the child, I sincerely thank them."

    Gia Hoi Commune Police also announced that if anyone is the biological father, mother or relative of the child, please come to Gia Hoi Commune People's Committee headquarters to complete the procedures to receive the child.

    According to regulations, if after 7 days from the date of notification no one comes to claim the child, the authorities will carry out birth registration procedures and other related procedures for the child according to the provisions of law.
