According to the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units of Ben Tre province in 2025, on the basis of reviewing the number of headquarters and public assets of agencies, organizations and units in commune-level administrative units to implement the arrangement of localities, based on the Government's regulations on reorganization, handling of public assets and instructions from competent authorities, the Provincial People's Committee directs relevant agencies to develop a plan to handle headquarters and public assets for localities to implement.
Accordingly, priority is given to using the headquarters of district and commune-level agencies and units (Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations, police, military, health stations) to arrange as headquarters for new commune-level agencies. The remaining headquarters will be converted to serve the needs of the locality or organize the liquidation of public assets according to regulations.
For schools, to ensure favorable conditions for students' learning and teaching, in the immediate future, Ben Tre province keeps schools stabilizing schools in communes and wards, and assign the Department of Education and Training to preside over the advising and building a scheme to arrange and reorganize preschool and high schools associated with improving the quality of education, rational adjustment of the class of classes in accordance with the needs of each locality.
The People's Committee of the commune after arranging organizes the arrangement and handling of public offices and properties due to the local administrative arrangement of the local plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee.
Also according to the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units, Ben Tre province plans to merge 148 communes and wards, reducing to 48 communes and wards.
