At around 8:00 a.m. the same day, due to prolonged heavy rain, rising water collapsed the walls of a house next to the hospital, water overflowed into many areas of Van Ho General Hospital (Thao Nguyen facility).
Some departments such as the Department of Pharmacy, the Department of Examination, the Department of Surgery and the Department of Obstetrics were flooded, many medical equipment, medicines, and facilities were damaged.
Mr. Tran Huu Hung - Director of the Hospital said that more than 200 patients and their families had to be urgently evacuated to a safe area. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.
"The water has begun to recede, forces are focusing on cleaning up, moving furniture and machinery, and overcoming damage to soon restore medical examination and treatment activities," Mr. Hung informed.
