On January 16, 2026, information from Hop Luc International General Hospital said that the hospital is treating a patient with severe burns due to an electrical accident.

According to the hospital representative, the patient is Mr. Le Van Cuong (residing in Truong Lam commune, Thanh Hoa province), admitted to the hospital in a state of electrical burns combined with heat burns on both hands, the burn level is from degree I to degree III, with a damage area of about 8% of the body.
Immediately upon receiving, doctors and nurses proceeded to treat the burn, use antibiotics, intravenous fluids, vaccinate against tetanus and closely monitor the development of the injury.
Currently, the patient's condition has improved somewhat, but it is still in the process of treatment and cannot be discharged from the hospital. Some deep burn locations need to be monitored further, if necrosis appears, it may be necessary to intervene with cutting and skin grafting," a representative of Hop Luc International General Hospital informed.
Recounting the accident process, Mr. Le Van Cuong said that at about 12 pm on January 10, 2026, while hanging warning signs in the factory area, he was suddenly electrocuted, causing severe burns to both hands.
Immediately after that, he was taken to Hop Luc International General Hospital for emergency treatment. “Since being hospitalized, no functional agency has come to work or collect information about this labor accident,” Mr. Cuong said.
It is known that Mr. Le Van Cuong is the Head of the Electricity Team, working at the Factory of Lionas Metals Vietnam Co., Ltd., located in Lien Son residential group, Nghi Son ward, Thanh Hoa province.
Regarding the above incident, at a press conference to inform about the socio-economic situation in 2025 and key tasks for 2026, held on the afternoon of January 15, Mr. Mai Xuan Liem, Standing Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, directed relevant departments and agencies to inspect and verify information about the incident.
