On the afternoon of March 18, Can Tho City Party Secretary Le Quang Tung, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen and city departments, agencies, and sectors inspected the progress of Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (IP) phase 1 (VSIP Can Tho IP) and the investment project to build the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway phase 1, component project 2 section passing through Can Tho City.

According to the Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board (PMB), the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway construction investment project (phase 1), including component projects 2, 3, 4, is being focused on implementation by localities in the Mekong Delta region to ensure progress according to plan.
The project has a total investment of more than 31,288 billion VND, implementation time from 2022 – 2027. According to the plan, the expressway has a total length of about 132.47 km. The starting point is at Km57+200, in Thanh Quoi commune, Can Tho city, connecting to component project 1; the ending point is at Km189+666.65, intersecting with the Nam Song Hau National Highway and the access road to Tran De port according to the plan.

Currently, the project has a total of 11 construction packages, including 10 construction packages and 1 construction package for traffic safety systems. According to the latest report, the total construction progress of all 3 component projects reached 54.06%.
Regarding compensation, support and resettlement, localities and the Land Fund Development Center have completed 100% of the volume. Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure works, the Land Fund Development Center is currently closely coordinating with the Power Company to carry out the relocation of high-voltage power lines at the site.

The VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project with a scale of 293.7ha has completed key items such as ground leveling, internal traffic, power supply, water supply, and drainage systems.
To date, the project is implementing the completion of a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 6,000 m3/day and night and a fire prevention and fighting system. It is expected that by June 2026, it will be eligible to serve secondary investors and go into operation.
The total project progress is currently about 28% and is expected to reach about 50% by the end of 2026.

The VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project is located in Vinh Trinh commune (Can Tho City) with a land use scale of 293.7ha (phase 1) approved for investment policy by the Prime Minister according to Decision No. 1255/QD-TTg, dated October 17, 2022 and officially granted an investment registration certificate by the Can Tho City People's Committee on October 25, is a key project of the city with an investment capital scale of up to more than 3.717 billion VND.
