Visiting and encouraging the families of officers who died while on duty, Mr. Vu Dai Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee - expressed his infinite condolences for the passing of Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai - a brave police officer who did not fear danger and was ready to sacrifice for the peace of the people's lives.
The Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the sacrifice of Senior Lieutenant Khai is a great loss not only for the Quang Ninh Provincial Police force, but also a pity for the entire Party Committee, government and people in the province.
Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai sacrificed himself at a very young age, but his brave spirit, strong will and heart for the Fatherland will forever be a noble symbol of the People's Public Security soldier.
Mr. Thang affirmed that Quang Ninh province will always accompany, care for, and fully implement policies and rewards for families and consider this a deep responsibility and affection of the Party, State and the whole society.
Along with that, the Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee also asked the provincial police force to soon complete the procedures to bring Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai to his hometown and quickly complete the policy regimes for martyrs who sacrificed when on duty. At the same time, the provincial police continued to mobilize the maximum forces to quickly arrest the subjects in the case of drug trafficking and transportation to bring peace to the people.
Previously, at around 8:20 p.m. on April 17, 2025, in the area near Dragon Castle apartment building (belonging to group 10, zone 10, Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh), the Working Group of Quang Ninh Provincial Police, chaired by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, discovered and arrested 2 subjects (including: Nguyen Huu Dang, born in 1967, residing in zone 4B, Hung Thang ward, Ha Long city; Ha Thuong Hai, born in 1994, Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district, Phu Tho province), confiscating 16 heroin cakes.
While chasing the remaining subjects, the subjects used AK guns to attack the police force, causing Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai - an officer of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Police - to be shot and killed. The working group seized 2 guns and 1 bomb.
Quang Ninh Provincial Police have coordinated with the Departments of Labor, Police of neighboring localities, functional forces and local authorities to mobilize maximum forces and means to arrest the fleeing subjects. At about 4:30 a.m. on April 18, 2025, two more subjects, Hoang Quang Dong (born in 1994) and Ha Quang Son, born in 1994, were arrested, both residing in Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district, Phu Tho province.
Currently, Quang Ninh Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case and resolve it according to legal regulations.
