At 2:55 p.m. on June 28, Nam Du Border Guard Station, Kien Hai District (Kien Giang Border Guard) received information from the people about the sinking of a fishing boat.
The vehicle was in distress in an area about 300m from the wharf in Bai Chet hamlet, Kien Hai district, with 2 fishermen on board.
After receiving the information, the Party Committee and the unit's Command promptly sent a Working Group of 10 comrades, led by Lieutenant Colonel Truong Hong Luat - Deputy Head of the Station, to mobilize to the scene of the incident. At the same time, it was reported that police, militia and local people were coordinated to rescue people, salvage and towing vehicles to a safe area (at 6pm the same day).
Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties. The unit is continuing to coordinate with local authorities to overcome the consequences, while promoting to fishermen to ensure absolute safety for people and property during the rainy and stormy season.
