On the afternoon of September 29, the leader of the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Nam Ward (Gia Lai Province) confirmed that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, causing 1 death while swimming in Quy Nhon beach.
At about 11:00 a.m. the same day, Mr. N.T.D (born in 1969, residing in Quy Nhon ward, Gia Lai province) went swimming in the area behind Children's Park, in Quy Nhon Nam ward. While swimming, Mr. D was swept away by waves and drowned. Many people discovered it, swam out to rescue it and gave first aid, but the victim did not survive.

Quy Nhon Nam Ward Police have reported the incident, proposed Gia Lai Provincial Police to conduct an autopsy and investigate the cause.
According to records, in the afternoon of the same day, Quy Nhon sea had strong winds, rough seas, and high waves continuously hitting the shore. Although there are warning signs of danger, there are still many people going swimming.
Ms. T.M (residing in Quy Nhon Nam ward) said that this afternoon, the sea had big waves and strong winds, but many people still ignored the danger and went swimming, not even wearing life jackets.
"This afternoon, a drowning incident has just occurred here, but they are not afraid, each high wave in a row hit the shore and were cold," said Ms. M.
