Implementing the policy of Binh Dinh province on relocating households from the premises of the Provincial Sports and Training Center (Coach Center), the Department of Culture and Sports (VHTT) of Binh Dinh province has directed the Training Center to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of households subject to relocation.
Based on the opinions of households, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider a support plan to create conditions to help them have stable housing.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Bui Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh province - said that the Department has reported to the Provincial People's Committee on the situation of households and families currently residing in the Training Center. At the same time, it is proposed to assign competent authorities to develop compensation, support and resettlement plans for these households.
"Currently, there are 24 households living in the Training Center, with 134 people. These households are not eligible for compensation or resettlement land allocation when relocating. Based on the report of the Training Center, the department has compiled and reported proposals for the province to support these households in the direction of accessing preferential loan packages, social housing, etc.
For households with special financial difficulties and unable to afford to buy social housing despite the support of the province, the Department has proposed that the province establish a Site Clearance Board to thoroughly resolve this issue," said Mr. Hieu.

According to Mr. Hieu, after the liberation, the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Nghia Binh province was established, and these households were the first officials of the department. Because the economic conditions at that time were very difficult, they were given the opportunity to stay in the stadium's collective housing area. After retiring, the financial conditions were not very good, so the family continued to live here until now.
Through consultation, most households agreed with the province's policy, agreeing to relocate from the Training Center premises.
In response to the proposal of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province Pham Anh Tuan assigned this Department to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant agencies and units to review, study and propose the relocation of 24 households to ensure compliance with regulations; to be completed in February 2025.
Worry about having to relocate
For the past 35 years, Mr. Tran Van Thai (born in 1961, retired cadre) and his wife have lived at the Training Center. The room is about 30 square meters wide, although narrow but contains many memories, and is where three generations in the family have been attached to and gathered over the years. Mr. Thai recalled that in 1989, when he was an officer of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Nghia Binh province, he and many colleagues were given free accommodation by the agency within the Department's premises. After Nghia Binh province separated into Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh provinces, his family and colleagues continue to live stably here until now. "When we heard the news of the province's request for relocation, my husband and I were very confused. The province requires relocation, we completely agree, but if we have to "pack up" it, we don't know where it will be, when the financial capacity is not enough to buy a new place to live", Mr. Thai confided...
