At 11:46 a.m. today (June 9, 2025), Thanh Lan Border Guard Station, Co To island district, Quang Ninh province received information from people about a fishing boat about 1 nautical mile from Thanh Lan Border Guard Station that was in distress at sea, with 4 people on board.
Upon receiving the news, the unit sent 6 officers and soldiers to immediately operate a boat to the coordinates 02'35.08"N - 107'00.2"E and successfully rescued all 4 fishermen on the boat with license plate TH 90111 "TS, owned by Mr. Do Xuan Binh (born in 1981, permanent resident of Hai Thanh ward, Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province).
According to the ship owner, the cause of the accident was that while moving, it collided with underground rock, causing water to enter the engine compartment. Thanh Lan Border Guard Station not only safely rescued the lives of all 4 people on the boat, but also towed the boat to an area near the shore to pump water out of the engine compartment.
Upon receiving the information, the Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Co To district directed the District Medical Center to immediately closely coordinate with Thanh Lan Border Guard Station to conduct health check-ups for the 4 people on the boat.
