Voters in Thai Nguyen proposed to continue allocating central budget capital to implement investment in building regional infrastructure to create momentum to make Thai Nguyen province a "growth spearhead" of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region.
Typically: the route connecting Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces; the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway from 4 to 6 lanes; the route connecting Thai Nguyen - Lang Son provinces (replacing National Highway 1B)".
After studying, the Ministry of Construction responded as follows:
According to the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, in Thai Nguyen province, there are 2 expressway routes with a total length of about 86km.
The Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi route (CT.07) is 57km long, with a planned scale of 4 - 6 lanes, and has now been put into operation.
The Ring Road 5 - Hanoi Capital Region is about 29km long, with a planned scale of 6 lanes, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province is organizing construction.
The above-mentioned planning of the expressway system in Thai Nguyen province has basically met the transportation needs by 2030, with a vision to 2050.
Regarding the expansion of the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway: on June 5, 2025, the Ministry of Construction reported to the Prime Minister the investment plan to complete the construction of the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway under the public-private partnership method. Currently, the Ministry of Construction is coordinating with the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province and related localities to determine the investment plan and the competent authority to implement the project as a basis for implementing the next steps.
Regarding the planning of the Thai Nguyen - Lang Son expressway to replace National Highway 1B: The Ministry of Construction requested the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province to coordinate with the People's Committee of Lang Son province to study and add to the provincial planning and mobilize legal capital for investment.
The Ministry of Construction will closely coordinate with localities during the implementation process.
