On July 6, according to information from Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), this unit is focusing resources to prepare for the groundbreaking of 2 projects this year including: Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway Expansion Project, Yen Bai - Lao Cai section and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway Expansion Project, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh section.
In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway Expansion Project, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh section will start construction on August 19, 2025 and will be basically completed in 2026. The construction area is nearly 22km long, starting at Km4+000 (Ring Road 2 intersection), Ho Chi Minh City. The end point is at Km25+920 (the intersection of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway) in Dong Nai province.
The project has a total investment of more than VND 16,386 billion. Of which, the state budget capital is VND6,500 billion, bank loans and credit institutions are VND7,900 billion and the remaining VND2,000 billion is VEC's equity capital (including interest). The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2027. In which, the project is basically completed in 2026.
The Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway Expansion Project, Yen Bai - Lao Cai section, is also planned to start construction in 2025.
According to VEC, except for the Da Nang - Quang Ngai route, the remaining expressways of VEC still experience traffic congestion, especially during holidays, Tet and weekends due to increased traffic volume and some traffic incidents and collisions.
While the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh and Noi Bai - Lao Cai routes are slightly congested at some times, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay routes often experience this situation, especially on Long Thanh bridge and the access road to National Highway 51.
Currently, VEC has completed the procedures according to regulations and prepared infrastructure ready for the collection of service fees for the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway expected in August 2025.
