Voters in Lang Son proposed that competent authorities consider expanding and upgrading the section of National Highway 279 from Than Muoi intersection to Bac Ninh province) and to Bai Chay, in Quang Ninh province, with a length of about 138km, to become a highway to promote socio-economic development, trade, services, and increase people's income.
After studying, the Ministry of Construction responded as follows:
According to the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 279 is managed and exploited according to conventional automobile standards, without a plan to upgrade to a highway.
Regarding the expressway system, in Lang Son province, there are 2 expressways with a total length of about 175km, of which the Tien Yen - Lang Son - Cao Bang route (CT.10) is 89km long, with a planned scale of 4 lanes, currently investing in the Lang Son (Dong Dang) - Cao Bang (Tra Linh) section; the Hanoi - Bac Giang (now Bac Ninh) - Lang Son route is 86km long, with a planned scale of 4 lanes, has been put into operation the Bac Giang (now Bac Ninh) - Lang Son (Chi Lang) section, under construction of the Chi Lang - Huu Nghi Border Gate section. The above-mentioned planning of the expressway system in Lang Son province has basically met the transportation needs by 2030, with a vision to 2050.
