The Ministry of Construction responds to the planning of 3 dry ports in Lang Son

The Ministry of Construction has just responded to voters in Lang Son province about adding a plan for dry ports in the area.

Lang Son voters requested the Ministry of Construction to promptly synthesize and report to the Prime Minister to add the dry port planning at the Cargo Transit Area of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone in Lang Son province to the dry port system development plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050".

After studying, the Ministry of Construction responded as follows:

Based on the consensus of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, the Ministry of Construction has organized the preparation, submission and approved by the Prime Minister for the development plan of the dry port system for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 in Decision No. 979/QD-TTg dated August 22, 2023.

Accordingly, in Lang Son province, 3 dry ports are planned including: Yen Trach dry port (scale by 2030 area of 5 hectares, capacity through 50,000 penny/year; by 2050 area of 85 hectares). Tan Thanh dry port (scale by 2030 area of 15-20 ha, capacity through 150,000-200,000 Teu/year; by 2050 area of 50 ha). Na Duong dry port (scale to 2050 area of 45 hectares).

In Decision No. 287/QD-BXD dated March 21, 2025 of the Ministry of Construction, the list of Vietnam's dry ports was announced including 17 dry ports, without any planned dry ports in Lang Son province.

The Ministry of Construction acknowledged the above proposal of voters in Lang Son province and requested the National Assembly Delegation of Lang Son province to give opinions to the People's Committee of Lang Son province based on actual needs and results of implementing the local dry port planning to have specific proposals for supplementing the dry port planning according to regulations, as a basis for the Ministry of Construction to study and synthesize, report to competent authorities for consideration and resolution in the coming time.
