On July 15, Mr. Du Minh Hung, Director of the Department of Construction of Ca Mau province, said that there are currently about 300 officials arranged accommodation at a number of hotels in the central ward to facilitate work.
Specifically, these officials are staying at 9 hotels, with a maximum rental period of 2 months, each room is about 5 million VND per month for 2 guests. Each hotel rents out a number of rooms to meet the temporary accommodation needs of staff. Hotel rental is not decentralized but depends on actual needs.

The total number of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the old Bac Lieu province coming to work at the new administrative unit of the new Ca Mau province after the merger is more than 1,700 people. Of which, more than 1,500 people need housing support.
According to the Department of Construction of Ca Mau province, about 300 of the officials from Bac Lieu to Ca Mau have been deployed to public housing, guest houses and some headquarters have been renovated and repaired, the rest have rented out.

In the long term, the province is speeding up the repair and renovation of some suitable works to convert their functions into public housing and accommodation. According to the plan, in July, 48 rooms will be completed (6 official rooms and 42 rooms will be accommodated); by September 1, 80 more rooms (20 official rooms and 60 rooms will be completed for officers in Bac Lieu to work and stay.
Mr. Hung said: After 2 more months, the above accommodation will be completed to meet the accommodation needs of the current staff staying at the hotel.
Previously, the People's Council of Ca Mau province approved a support policy for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers from Bac Lieu to Ca Mau working after the merger of the province. These officials were supported with support levels including rental costs of 1.2 million VND, travel costs of 520,000 VND and living expenses of 500,000 VND per person per month. The support period is 2 years. The support money is transferred directly to the beneficiary who pays the monthly salary at the same time.
According to Resolution No. 60 of the 13th Party Central Committee, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces will be merged and named Ca Mau, the current political and administrative center located in Ca Mau. The old Bac Lieu province is about 70 km from the center of Ca Mau.
