On August 23, the Department of Finance of Gia Lai province announced that the goal by 2030 is to develop 33 high-tech agricultural areas. The livestock sector alone has 125 high-tech projects with a total capital of over VND19,000 billion.
Of these, 52 projects have been completed and put into operation, 73 projects are being implemented with a total capital of more than 10,000 billion VND.
The functional sector prioritizes the development of modern, environmentally friendly processing projects, reducing manual labor and increasing product value.
Agricultural projects mainly focus on key products such as: avocado, durian, dragon fruit, coffee, pepper, banana, vegetable, flower and medicinal herb.

Currently, high-tech agricultural products, mainly in the West of Gia Lai, have been exported to many countries. Of which, coffee is the main commodity, present in more than 60 markets around the world, mainly in Europe.
Some typical large-scale production models include: Growing old South American bananas in Kon Gang commune of Hung Son Company Limited; Raising dairy cows with a scale of 13,000 cows according to GlobalGAP standards of Nutifood Group in Mang Yang district; Raising high-tech beef cows with a scale of 70,000 cows of Thaco Agri Company in Ia punch commune.
In addition, some processing plants bring high export value such as: Quicornac Company Limited's passion fruit processing factory in Tra Da Industrial Park (Pleiku ward) with a capacity of 450 tons/day.
The high-tech agricultural area of Nafoods Group in An Phu ward with the capacity to produce 4,000 seedlings/day, along with a processing factory with a capacity of 350 tons/day.
