Regarding the seriously degraded Tam Vu road (Tan An ward, Can Tho city) that Lao Dong reported, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thai - Deputy Director of the Ninh Kieu Construction Investment Project Management Board, had a preliminary discussion on the renovation of the road.
Accordingly, this route has a total length of about 3km, of which more than 1.4km is part of the Can Tho River embankment package that has been upgraded and renovated. However, the remaining section from Tam Vu Market to Dau Sau Canal has not yet been invested in.

The People's Committee of the old Ninh Kieu District has handed over the project to renovate the degraded Tam Vu road to the Ninh Kieu Construction Investment Project Management Board and was started on June 27, 2025. However, due to limited capital, this project only implements 2 items (renovating the drainage system and re-paving the existing road surface) with a budget of 11 billion VND.
The investor is trying to urge the construction unit to create conditions for safe traffic.
"We have constructed sewers for rainwater drainage on the road and re-paved the existing road surface, without renovating the new road surface. Currently, the construction unit is filling the manhole and importing sewers, and will soon construct the sewers" - Mr. Tran Ngoc Thai said.

Living on Tam Vu Street (Tan An Ward, Can Tho City) for more than 30 years, Ms. Nguyen Oanh said that with the current state of the road being seriously degraded, people in the area as well as people who regularly travel on the road have a hard time moving. During the rainy and stormy season, high tides, and severe flooding, some people even collapsed and "close in".
The information about the road being renovated with a drainage system makes Ms. Oanh excited, because according to her, if there is a delay, it will be more dangerous for traffic participants. Ms. Oanh hopes that in addition to the road surface being redone soon to ensure a safe road surface, the road will be expanded as spacious as the section near Tam Vu market, thereby contributing to ensuring the aesthetics of the new Can Tho city, integration and development.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tam (Tan An ward) expressed: "Not only the people living in the area but I personally - who often travel on this road, also feel miserable, especially during high tides. This road is also frequently visited by trucks, it would be a pity and a pity if it was not invested in early".
