Resettlement funds are allocated at many locations, including: Apartment No. 4 Phan Chu Trinh; Apartment 3A (Thu Duc); My Kim apartment (Thu Duc); Apartment R6 (Thu Duc); Nguyen Kim B building; An Suong apartment (District 12); Zone B Nguyen Kim Apartment (Saigon Real Estate Corporation Limited Liability Company); Tan Thuan residential area; Nhat Thanh residential area; Binh Hoa residential area; Binh Chieu residential area; Resettlement Zone No. 3 - Rach Chiec South area,...

However, many resettlement housing and land funds are still not ready for handover, affecting the progress of relocation and site clearance.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor), the project has 3 main construction packages. In which, the first package started construction in May 2025, and the remaining two packages started construction at the end of 2025.

The investor proposed that localities soon complete the handover of land for bidding packages in March 2026 for contractors to deploy simultaneously.

In case it is not possible to hand over the entire site, the Proposal Board is allowed to receive each part of the site to serve rolling construction, equipment and machinery gathering.

According to the plan, if the full site is handed over, package XL-03 (passing through An Nhon and Binh Loi Trung wards) can be completed in November 2026. The remaining two packages are expected to be completed in 2028.

On the afternoon of March 18, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc directly inspected the Xuyen Tam canal renovation project, requesting localities to improve political determination and focus maximally on site clearance work.

The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee set a deadline to complete the handover at the end of June 2026. During this time, localities must strengthen mobilizing people to receive compensation, arrange resettlement or temporary residence.

In case money has been received but the land is not handed over, coercion is carried out.

Wards are responsible to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee if the handover of land is not completed by the end of June 2026.

The Xuyen Tam canal renovation project includes items: dredging the canal bed 3.5 m deep, expanding the canal bed from 20 - 30 m, building a synchronous wastewater and rainwater collection system.

On both sides of the canal, a 6 m wide traffic road (two lanes on each side), a 3 - 4 m wide sidewalk and a system of parks and green trees will be built.

The entire project is expected to be completed in 2028, not only improving the environment, forming drainage systems, canal roads and parks, but also opening up public spaces, contributing to changing the face of Ho Chi Minh City's inner city.
