The entire Ring Road 2.5 in the city is divided into 13 sections. The project has been invested in 7.6km according to the plan, 9.36km is being invested, and 2.45km has not been studied for investment.
Currently, one of the biggest difficulties is site clearance related to 5 sections that are under implementation and 3 sections that have not been implemented.
According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, for the Ring Road 2.5, the first section of the Linh Nam route (from the Thanh Tri bridge approach road to Vinh Hoang) is invested by the People's Committee of Vinh Hung Ward with a total investment of more than VND 2,249 billion.
The route length is about 1.52km, the land area to be cleared is about 5.64ha in the wards of Vinh Hung, Hoang Mai, Tuong Mai, Vinh Tuy.
Up to now, the People's Committees of the wards have cleared the land and handed over to the investor about 0.55ha/5.64ha, reaching 9.7%. The People's Committees of the wards are committed to completing the site clearance work before March 31, 2026.
The project has been allocated 196 resettlement apartments by the City People's Committee at house C13/DD1 in Linh Nam ward.
The National Highway 1A - Dam Hong section is implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), a BT contract type with a total investment of VND 971 billion. Expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.
The section from Dam Hong to Nguyen Trai Street is invested by the People's Committee of Khuong Dinh Ward with a total investment of 2,432 billion VND.
The land area to be cleared is 6.09ha. The Ward People's Committee is committed to completing all site clearance work in the first quarter of 2026. The city has arranged 350 resettlement apartments for the project.
The investment project to build the Ring Road 2.5 section Nguyen Trai - Nguy Nhu Kon Tum; Tran Duy Hung - Trung Kinh section; Duong Dinh Nghe - Cau Giay street section has a total investment of more than VND 7,092 billion.
For the section passing through Yen Hoa and Cau Giay wards, the two localities are focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles in site clearance, striving to hand over enough land to implement the project in the first quarter of 2026.
According to Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc, in the context of Hanoi's rapid urbanization, Ring Road 2.5 is a key factor to achieve the goal of infrastructure breakthroughs and reducing traffic congestion - one of the 5 bottlenecks that the city focuses on overcoming.
The Hanoi Secretary emphasized that this is a key project of the city, meaning not only for the development future of Hanoi, but also to meet the requirements of the people's practical life.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested that the entire political system must be mobilized to participate, increase propaganda and mobilization so that people can share, support and accompany the city to complete the project on schedule.
The Ring Road 2.5 plays a vital role in the Hanoi capital's transportation system, contributing to connecting the inner-city areas from Phu Thuong to Linh Nam, creating a closed circle to reduce traffic pressure on major roads such as Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3.
When completed, the road will also contribute to changing the urban appearance, creating momentum for the socio-economic development of the capital.
