According to the Department of Construction, on November 16 and 17, Khanh Le Pass (National Highway 27C) experienced many serious landslides, causing complete traffic jams.
On Provincial Road 9, some locations have landslides, the road surface is only about half a lane; rocks and soil spill onto the road, many fallen trees continue to cause congestion.
Currently, road management and maintenance units are implementing tree-cutting and clearing of soil and rocks.
However, many large landslides are still inaccessible by mechanical means; in addition, there is an additional slide on the positive slope, the risk of landslides continues to increase.
To ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the Department of Construction - the Standing Agency of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee - announced a ban on people and vehicles traveling through National Highway 27C (section under Khanh Hoa province) and Provincial Road 9, except for vehicles serving flood rescue and recovery.
The ban period starts from 11:30 on November 17 until further notice.
The Department of Construction recommends that agencies and communication units widely disseminate the content of road closures so that people and businesses can grasp and avoid going into dangerous areas.
At the same time, Khanh Hoa Department of Construction requested Lam Dong Department of Construction to notify transportation enterprises to coordinate implementation. The Provincial Police are assigned to preside over the arrangement of forces, ensure traffic safety and strictly handle cases of intentional violations of road ban regulations.
According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, by 3:30 p.m. on November 17, the flood had caused heavy damage to people and property. The whole province recorded 7 deaths, 1 missing person and 19 injuries.
Landslide at Khanh Son Pass: 1 dead, 1 missing, 1 injured.
Landslide at Khanh Le Pass: 6 dead, 18 injured and 8 scratched.
