Recently, the Department of Construction of An Giang province has officially implemented a plan to pick up and drop off officials from Long Xuyen ward to Rach Gia ward and vice versa to work. Thereby, it shows the deep concern of the Party and local authorities for the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees after the merger of the two provinces of Kien Giang and An Giang.
After the merger, the transfer of personnel from units in the old An Giang province to work in Rach Gia ward - now the administrative center of the new An Giang province - has caused many difficulties in movement, living and working psychology for cadres. The province does not have a fixed bus route from Rach Gia to Long Xuyen. Therefore, the daily pick-up and drop-off support policy has promptly removed difficulties to ensure that officers work with peace of mind and without interruption in their duties.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of An Giang province, said: "This pick-up and drop-off policy not only helps ensure safety, save time and costs for cadres but also demonstrates humanity and professionalism in the work of organizing cadres after the merger. In addition, this activity also creates motivation, excitement, solidarity and high responsibility in the work of cadres".

The Long Xuyen - Rach Gia route and vice versa operated by Tuan Nga Company operate from Monday to Friday every week with a fare of VND 75,000/person/trip. The fixed departure time in Long Xuyen is at 5am with 7 pick-up points. Departure time at Rach Gia at 5:00 p.m. with 4 pick-up points, travel time from 90 - 120 minutes/trip.
According to Tuan Nga Company, to ensure the arrangement of vehicles, passengers who are officials and civil servants can register in advance of the schedule. Depending on the number of registered passengers, the bus company can arrange a 16-seat vehicle or a vehicle with more than 40 seats, but all are new vehicles put into operation.

The Department of Construction of An Giang province also said that the above route comes from the proposal to register the demand for vehicles to transport cadres, civil servants, and public employees from Long Xuyen to Rach Gia for work and vice versa. In the long term, this is also a public passenger transport route that serves the travel needs of people in communes and wards in the old An Giang province to work and work at the new An Giang provincial administrative center.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Y, a civil servant of the Department of Home Affairs of An Giang province, shared: "At first, I was worried about traveling, because I was a woman, so I drove for long distances and my family was not assured. When the province supported me with this bus transportation, I registered to travel every week. Every Friday afternoon from Rach Gia to An Giang to visit our house, everyone is excited and happy, finding it convenient and stable.
The merger of provinces is a big step, requiring consensus, solidarity and determination of the entire political system. Therefore, taking good care of the staff - those who directly operate the administrative apparatus is a prerequisite to ensure stability and sustainable development in the new period.
The proactiveness, flexibility and responsibility of An Giang provincial leaders in supporting the reception of civil servants from afar have created confidence, peace of mind and determination to contribute to building An Giang province to develop more and more.
