Achieving about 99% of the workload
The coastal road project through the old Thai Binh province (now Hung Yen province) has a total length of more than 43km, with a total investment of nearly VND5,000 billion. The scale of a level III plain road, a 12m wide roadbed, 4 lanes, and a design speed of 80km/h.
According to the Hung Yen Province Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 2, the coastal road project through the province has completed about 99% of the work. The investor and construction units are mobilizing maximum human resources and means to promptly open the entire route and inaugurate the Red River bridge project according to plan.


According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, these days, hundreds of engineers, workers and machinery have been working hard at the project site. Many sections on the route have been completed, the road surface has been paved with asphalt, and there are clear lane division lines. The guardrails on both sides are installed with solid steel, to ensure traffic safety.
Mr. Vu Van Toan - Construction Head - said that there is not much time left to finish the project, to ensure the completion of the work, dozens of construction teams have been arranged by the contractor along the entire route. Currently, the contractor is maintaining 8 construction teams, 3 shifts and 4 teams with about 200 officers, engineers and workers. Construction teams and teams are reasonably arranged along the entire route, deploying many items at the same time to optimize time and human resources.
11 bridges connecting the VND5,000 billion road
There are 11 bridges on the coastal road section through Hung Yen province, including a bridge over the Red River worth nearly 1,000 billion VND. This is a bridge over the Red River connecting the old Thai Binh province (now the new Hung Yen province) and the old Nam Dinh province (now the new Ninh Binh province).
The bridge has a total length of 1.4km with 27 spans, including 5 main spans and the main span in the middle of the river, exceeding the aperture of 120m.
Currently, the bridge has been completed, items such as railings, lighting, etc. have been installed and road markings have been painted.


Looking at the completed Red River overpass, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba (Giao Hoa commune, Ninh Binh province) said: "In the afternoon, I often cycle across the dike in the Red River overpass area, so every day I stop to rest to see the bridge. Normally, we have to travel by ferry to a neighboring province, which is very time-consuming. Since the bridge was completed, we have been very excited, and in the future, we will not have to take a ferry round".
According to the Management Board of the Hung Yen Province Construction Investment Project No. 2, the Red River overpass project connecting Hung Yen - Ninh Binh is of great significance. After completion and operation, traffic will be connected between the two provinces in particular, the regional traffic network, and the national traffic system.
In addition, along with the coastal road section through Hung Yen province, the Red River overpass will create a breakthrough in socio-economic development, promoting tourism development of the marine economic zone of the Red River Delta. At the same time, strengthening national defense, security, and responding to climate change; in particular, it is of decisive significance to the development of Thai Binh Economic Zone.
