On January 15, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 organized a program to distribute free charity porridge to poor patients in particularly difficult circumstances who are being treated at the Phu Quoc Special Zone Medical Center, An Giang province.
Participating in the program are officers, union members, and women's union members of Coast Guard Region 4 Command. From early morning, female soldiers directly selected ingredients, processed and cooked potted porridge to ensure nutrition, hygiene and food safety. Each hot porridge was handed over to patients with caring and thoughtfulness, expressing the feelings, responsibility and deep sharing of officers and soldiers for those in difficult circumstances in life.
Not only having material value, meaningful bowls of porridge are also a great source of spiritual encouragement, adding faith and willpower to patients in their journey to fight disease. Many patients and relatives are touched by the sincere care of the female Coast Guard soldiers.
Patient Nguyen Van Truong (currently being treated at the Department of Surgery) shared: "I feel touched to be cared for, visited, and handed over a bowl of hot porridge. I feel warmer during my days of treatment here.
The charity porridge distribution program is an activity with profound humanistic meaning, contributing to spreading the beautiful image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" - Vietnam Coast Guard soldiers in the hearts of the people. Especially the image of a female soldier who is both steadfast in performing her duties and rich in compassion and responsibility to the community.

This activity is part of a series of mass mobilization and social security work programs that Coast Guard Region 4 Command has regularly implemented in recent years and is organized regularly every month. Thereby, contributing to tightening the solidarity and bond between the Army and the People, consolidating people's trust in the Vietnam Coast Guard force.
In the coming time, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command will continue to promote and replicate practical and effective charity models and activities, joining hands with local Party committees and authorities to better care for the material and spiritual life of vulnerable subjects in society.
