On January 15, implementing the provisions of law on election work, Guidance No. 26/HD-MTTW-BTT dated December 14, 2025 of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front guiding agencies, organizations, and units at the Central level to conduct the introduction of candidates for National Assembly deputies (NA deputies) of the XVI term, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has implemented conferences in the process of introducing personnel to participate in the election of NA deputies of the XVI term, term 2026 - 2031 according to the provisions of the law on elections.
Accordingly, 100% of delegates attending the Conference to collect opinions from voters in their workplaces on the person expected to be introduced to run for National Assembly deputy of the XVI term, as well as the collective leadership meeting to expand discussion and introduce candidates for National Assembly deputy of the XVI term, unanimously voted to introduce Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung to run for National Assembly deputy of the XVI term.
Attending the conference, delegates discussed and introduced candidates for National Assembly deputies in a spirit of frankness, responsibility to participate in contributing comprehensive and objective comments, focusing on clarifying the political bravery, organizational discipline, sense of responsibility, leadership and direction capacity of the person expected to be introduced to the election.
Opinions expressed at the conference all expressed high consensus and agreement in introducing Comrade Le Manh Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade, National Assembly Deputy of the XV term, Member of the Economic and Finance Committee of the National Assembly to run for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
Delegates assessed that Comrade Le Manh Hung is a cadre with many years of experience in the energy industry, well-trained, with solid political bravery, innovative thinking, and rich experience in state management and business administration. He is always exemplary, approachable, and listens to cadres and people, and is qualified to act as a bridge between voters and the National Assembly.
Speaking at the conference, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung said that being introduced as a National Assembly Deputy is a great honor, and also a political responsibility to the Party, State, voters of the Industry and Trade sector, voters and people nationwide.
The Acting Minister also affirmed that he will strive to perform well the role of people's representative, actively participate in the activities of the National Assembly, proactively research and contribute to the draft laws, resolutions, and major policies of the National Assembly to institutionalize the Party's viewpoints and policies, in order to meet the requirements of national development in the new era, maintaining close connections between National Assembly deputies and voters and people.
In his position as Secretary of the Party Committee, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and National Assembly deputy, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade believes that there will be many opportunities to receive multi-dimensional information and have critical thinking about the country's and the industry's issues, thereby providing timely orientations and policies for the development of the Industry and Trade sector, meeting the requirements and tasks assigned by the Party and the State.
The conference is assessed as having important significance, aiming to promote the right to mastery of voters in their workplace; ensuring that the introduction of candidates is carried out democratically, objectively, publicly, transparently, in accordance with procedures and legal regulations, as a basis for summarizing reports to competent authorities according to regulations.
