On March 19, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, Coast Guard Region 4 Command organized a conference to summarize the peak period of fighting against crime; drug prevention and control; human trafficking prevention and control; anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
During the peak period, the Party Committee, the Regional Command and Party committees and commanders of agencies and units thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the directives and plans of superiors, focused on drastic leadership and direction, synchronously and effectively implemented professional measures, completed and exceeded the set targets (handling ordinary administrative violations exceeding 185%; fighting against smuggling and trade fraud exceeding 30%, fighting drug crime exceeding 100% of the set targets...); ensuring absolute safety in all aspects.
Notably: 124 cases/128 ships have been inspected, arrested, received, investigated, and handled; confiscated more than 17 tons of seafood, more than 363,000 liters of DO oil, 1,500 meters of fishing line. In which, 111 cases/115 ships were sanctioned and advised on sanctioning administrative violations with a total amount of administrative violation fines of more than 2.5 billion VND, resold confiscated goods due to administrative violations with an amount of more than 13.7 billion VND; handed over 10 cases/12 ships to localities for handling... Chairing, coordinating the fight, arresting 6 cases/6 subjects for illegally storing and transporting drugs.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Tranh - Deputy Commander of the Legal Department of the Region Command acknowledged, praised and highly appreciated the officers and soldiers of the entire Region Command, especially the legal professional block, who have upheld the spirit of responsibility, determination, overcome difficulties, resolutely fight against all kinds of crimes and law violations, and successfully completed assigned tasks, achieving and exceeding the targets set out in the Peak Period.
The Deputy Commander of the Department of Law requested that in the coming time, officers and soldiers of the entire Region Command continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the direction of the Vietnam Coast Guard, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and the Head of the Region Command; uphold the spirit of responsibility, firmly grasp the situation of the area, sea area, route, field, and object. Identify the work of fighting against crime, violations, and law enforcement at sea as a key and consistent task. Resolutely and uncompromisingly fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and drug crimes in the assigned management area; fight against IUU fishing, determined not to let Vietnamese fishing boats go to foreign waters to illegally exploit seafood.
The achievements in the peak period of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command have made an important contribution to preventing violations and crimes before, during and after the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026; contributing to maintaining security and order in the Southwest sea area; affirming the core role of the Vietnam Coast Guard force in enforcing the law at sea.
At the Conference, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 12 individuals with good achievements in the Peak Period.
