Over the past two days, Hanoi has had continuous heavy rain, due to the impact of storm Bualoi. The rains were about 15-30 minutes apart, causing dozens of flooded spots mainly in the inner city and the western gateway, causing chaos in traffic.
Road 70, the section across Nga bridge in Xuan Phuong ward, is one of the most deeply flooded and dangerous spots in the city.
Flooding has made it impossible for vehicles to move through here without receiving support.

In the above difficult situation, many soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard, with headquarters near the flooded area of Nga bridge, appeared here to support and help the people.
Coast Guard soldiers are on duty at flooded areas during peak days with 12-14 people, helping people and vehicles pass through flooded areas safely.

On September 30 and October 1 alone, the Coast Guard helped hundreds of people and vehicles cross the flooded section nearly 1 meter deep. Thanks to timely support, many people have avoided prolonged congestion and lurking dangers when trying to move in the water themselves.
Not only supporting movement, the soldiers also instructed people on how to follow the goods, reminding those who were weak to put their hands together to ensure safety.
At noon on October 1, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (37 years old, a technology motorbike taxi driver) was transporting passengers from Hoai Duc to Ha Dong via Provincial Road 70, when he was near Nga Bridge, when he encountered a deep flooded spot, he could not move through the flooded section by himself.
"Luckily, I was supported by soldiers to get my person and vehicle through the flooded section safely. In this situation of flood, seeing brothers wading around for hours to help people makes everyone happy and warm their hearts" - Mr. Hung said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien (living in Xuan Phuong ward) said that she would not be able to get through the flooded section without the support of the army.
"The water has been so deep since yesterday, I was both scared and nervous, luckily there were soldiers holding hands to help me take it step by step. In the midst of difficulties, the soldiers' dedication makes the people feel very secure, the love between the army and the people is even more intense" - Ms. Lien said.

As of 6:00 a.m. on October 1, the Hanoi inner-city swamp area was still flooded at more than 20 points. This figure is about 2/3 down from the statistics of Hanoi Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. at 4:00 p.m. on September 30.
