At 3:00 p.m. on December 11, while performing his duties at the unit, officers of the An Duong Waterway Police Station (Traffic Police Department) discovered a woman jumping from An Dong Bridge into the Dao River.
Immediately, Major Luu Tuan Dung - Station Chief and Major Hoang Quoc Hung urgently wore a life jacket and used a motorboat to approach the woman in the water. Faced with the emergency situation, the two comrades immediately plunged into the fast-flowing water, promptly rescuing the victim, Ms. D.T.T.H (born in 1975, residing in Le Chan ward, Hai Phong).
After being brought ashore and given first aid at An Duong Waterway Police Station, by 3:30 p.m. the same day, Ms. D.T.T.H had regained consciousness and her health gradually stabilized. Through the discussion, she said that she is currently being treated for cancer at Viet Tiep 2 Hospital, so due to pain, she had a plan and took a taxi to An Dong Bridge to commit suicide. At 3:45 p.m., Mrs. H's family received her and took her home to take care of her and manage her.
