On June 5, according to PV's investigation, Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee issued a decision regulating the unit price of replacement forest planting in the province, as a basis for organizations and individuals to fulfill financial obligations according to the provisions of the Forestry Law.
According to the new decision issued by the People's Committee of Cao Bang province, the unit price for replacing forest planting in the province is determined to be 13,085,000 VND/ha.
This unit price is applied to cases that are subject to payment for replacement afforestation according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 21 of the 2017 Forestry Law.
This is the basis for determining the amount to be paid to the Cao Bang Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund when converting forest use purposes to other purposes but not directly organizing replacement afforestation.
Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee said that the issuance of unit prices is carried out on the basis of current legal regulations on forestry, construction, labor and relevant guiding documents of central ministries and sectors.
In recent years, Cao Bang has been promoting investment attraction, implementing many traffic infrastructure, hydropower, tourism and socio-economic development projects.
The process of implementing a number of projects with the need to change the land use purpose of forestry land, affecting the existing forest area.
In that context, the issuance of replacement forest planting unit prices is considered an important basis for investors to fully fulfill their obligations according to regulations, while creating resources for forest restoration and development.
This is also a solution to harmonize the requirements of economic development with the goal of protecting forest resources and ecological environment in localities with high forest cover in the country such as Cao Bang.
