In the early days of November, when the mountain fog was still rising on the tops of the rocky mountains, at the construction site of the two expressway projects Huu Nghi - Chi Lang and Dong Dang - Tra Linh, thousands of engineers and workers were still stuck day and night. Each bowl of excavator, each shipment of materials follows each other, all together towards a certain time frame according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
Efforts to resolve land bottlenecks
On the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway, after the entire site was handed over from August 2025, contractors mobilized 2,812 personnel, 1,227 equipment, and deployed 141 construction teams along the entire route.
To date, the output has reached VND 3,257/6,856 billion, equivalent to 47.5% of the contract value.
According to Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan, Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, the province has focused on and directed strongly to speed up the site clearance progress, the items are considered a "key point" directly affecting the entire progress of the project.
According to the report, up to now, the entire route still has 9 households that have not handed over the site, mainly having problems relocating their houses and attached assets on the land.
According to the latest report, the Dong Dang - Tra Linh project is mobilizing 3,331 personnel, 1,487 equipment, 276 construction teams, with an output value of VND 4,741.69/11,397.48 billion, equivalent to 41.6% of the contract value.
According to Mr. Pham Duy Hieu - General Contractor Director of the Executive Board, before September, many contractors had rented more machinery and equipment to meet the goal of opening the route. However, due to heavy rain and continuous floods, construction activities have been "paralyzed", many contractors have suffered huge losses, many gasoline items are expected to be completed ahead of schedule, but there is a risk of missing the deadline.
This expressway project connecting the two provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang has a total of 65 river and provincial road overpasses, including 1 special-level bridge and 5 level 1 bridges.
Representative of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Project Management Board affirmed: "The December 19 mark is a commitment not to be delayed. Although the volume is still large, we have mobilized all resources, maintained 3 consecutive shifts, determined to complete the route according to plan".
When completed, the two expressways will close the Hanoi - Lang Son - Cao Bang economic corridor, connecting the international border gates of Huu Nghi, Tan Thanh, Tra Linh, creating a trade, tourism, and logistics axis across the Vietnam - China border.

Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway accelerates after storms and floods
The North-South expressway construction project, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section, has a total investment of more than VND 20,400 billion (of which the construction value is nearly VND 14,500 billion), with a length of 88km, passing through Quang Ngai province (60.3km) and Gia Lai (27.7km). This is the largest component project of the 12 projects of the expressway.
The route has 3 tunnels across the mountain including tunnel No. 1 610m long, tunnel No. 2 698m long and tunnel No. 3 3,200m long; along with 77 bridges, 586 culverts and 81 underpasses for people. According to the Government's direction, the project must be completed by the end of 2025. Therefore, immediately after the nearly 20-day storm and flood in Quang Ngai ended, the construction units mobilized maximum machinery and human resources to speed up the progress.
On November 9, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Xuan - Deputy Director of the Communications Department of Deo Ca Group - said that the current output has reached more than 90% of the contract value. There are more than 3,000 personnel and 1,100 equipment at the construction site, deploying 50 construction teams. The road has been paved with 78/83.5km, all 60 bridges on the main route have completed the bridge deck construction, 17 overpasses have completed the girder installation and are under construction of the bridge deck.
The three tunnels through the mountain have a total length of 4.5km. Tunnel No. 1 and tunnel No. 2 have been completed, tunnel No. 3 has dug through both tunnels, and is currently constructing concrete for the tunnel lining and roadbed, expected to be completed by the end of 2025 - 8 months ahead of schedule.

There are enough materials for the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project
To facilitate the construction unit to have the site, Ca Mau province competes 60 days and nights to promptly hand over the site to the construction units. Mr. Lam Van Bi - Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee - said: Ca Mau identifies the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway as very important for the socio-economic development of the province.
At the end of the expressway, the section passing through Ho Thi Ky commune, the team of engineers and workers worked hard day and night to complete the remaining work soon. The contractors mobilized all their capacity in terms of human resources, vehicles, equipment, and machinery to race against time, speeding up construction day and night on the project, with the goal of completing the progress according to instructions.
"The unit has mobilized all human resources, means, and finance to ensure overtime and increase shifts. We divided into 3 shifts, starting from 2am to 10am to carry out the work on schedule" - a construction worker said.
The current heavy rain is a major obstacle for construction, but with the spirit of overcoming difficulties, construction units have proactively adjusted the plan to ensure progress and quality of the project.
Mr. Le Duc Tuan - Deputy Director of My Thuan Project Management Board - informed that as of November 7, the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project has completed 100% of site clearance work.
The project has completed all the sand filling work to support the Subsidence. Currently, contractors are focusing on financial resources and have mobilized a total of 1,297 machines and equipment (including 444 rollers, 71 machines, 381 dump trucks, 16 BTN mixing stations), organizing 190 construction teams "3 shifts, 4 teams" to compensate for the slow progress. To date, the construction output (for the priority main route opened to traffic on December 19, 2025) has reached 86% of the contract value.
For the main bridge section, the 95/95 bridge deck and the 19 bridge BTN paving have been completed, basically meeting the schedule.
Regarding the material source for the project, up to now, the sand source of the units has been mobilized basically enough to complete the main route in 2025, the remaining volume of about 0.5 million cubic meters serving the construction of intersections, connecting routes, and service roads will be mobilized for completion before June 2026, the remaining sand mines will ensure to meet the demand. Stone materials, the total demand of the Can Tho - Ca Mau project is about 2.5 million cubic meters, currently mobilized to the project with 2.05 million cubic meters, the remaining volume is being mobilized to complete the main route of the project before December 19, 2025.
