Cao Bo - Phap Van expressway afternoon September 2: Congestion from Cao Bo toll station section

Tô Thế |

At about 2:50 pm on September 2, vehicles moved slowly from the Cao Bo toll station section on the Cao Bo - Phap Van expressway.

On the last day of the National Day holiday September 2nd, the number of vehicles on the Cao Bo - Phap Van expressway, heading towards Hanoi, increased sharply. However, by the afternoon of the same day, the route had not recorded serious congestion.

At about 2:50 PM on September 2nd, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Thanh Ha (Hanoi) said that vehicles are moving slowly from the Cao Bo toll station area in the direction of Hanoi.

It's not a serious congestion, it's just a congestion, cars move slowly. Our car is running at about 30km/h. Hopefully, we can move at normal speed through this section," Mr. Ha said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Huy Manh (Thanh Hoa) said that the passenger car he took from Thanh Hoa to Hanoi arrived at about 1 pm on September 2nd, the journey was generally quite convenient.

According to Mr. Manh, on the journey, only congestion appeared in the section from Liem Tuyen toll station to Duy Tien rest stop, stretching more than 4km. Another point of congestion is the section from Vuc Vong toll station to Dai Xuyen (Hanoi).

Previously, to avoid congestion on the last day of the holiday, many people actively returned to Hanoi from early this morning (September 2nd).

Mr. Nguyen Cong Thang (Ninh Binh) said that he departed from Vu Ban at 5:30 am and moved to Hanoi. By nearly 9 am, he had arrived in Hanoi.

According to Mr. Thang, at that time, the vehicles were most crowded in the area from Cau Gie rest stop to near the end of the route, causing vehicles to slow down.

The cars try to keep a safe distance, so the movement does not reach the best speed. I intended to go early to avoid the crowd and congestion, but it still takes quite a lot of time," Mr. Thang shared.

According to the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security, during the National Day holiday of September 2, although the traffic volume on many expressways increased sharply, the compliance awareness of vehicle operators has improved positively, in which driving in the correct lane, limiting continuous lane changes and proactively keeping distance from vehicles in front have been better implemented.

Reality shows that traffic accidents have decreased, collisions and incidents causing prolonged congestion have also been limited.

At times, due to the large number of vehicles, the actual traffic speed may be slower than normal, but when vehicles maintain distance, limit lane changes and no collisions occur, the flow of vehicles still moves continuously.

The important thing is not always to drive fast, but to maintain a smooth journey. A vehicle that drives fast but then has to stop for hours due to accidents, collisions or congestion does not necessarily reach the destination earlier than a vehicle that maintains appropriate speed, maintains distance and circulates smoothly.

When incidents on the road are limited, people can also avoid waiting time, vehicle repair costs and unnecessary risks," the Traffic Police Department said.

Faced with the forecast that the traffic volume returning to Hanoi will increase sharply on the last day of the National Day holiday September 2nd, Hanoi City Police deployed a traffic diversion plan early and remotely, focusing on reducing pressure in the Nuoc Ngam Bus Station area and Co Linh intersection.

According to the plan, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on September 2nd, functional forces will organize remote traffic diversion, limiting large tonnage trucks from circulating through the two intersections above, based on the actual traffic situation.

Hanoi City Police recommends that vehicle drivers, especially large tonnage truck drivers, proactively monitor traffic diversion information, choose appropriate routes and strictly comply with orders and instructions from functional forces.
