Responding to Lao Dong Newspaper, the representative of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board - Mr. Nguyen Minh Khanh, Head of the Board's Technical Department, said that the La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway (Thua Thien Hue connecting Da Nang) was still operating normally during the heavy rain and floods of the past few days. There were 5 landslides on the route, but the operating unit coordinated with local authorities to handle them immediately, ensuring smooth and safe traffic.
Of which, 2 landslides in Da Nang city have been cleared. Only 3 landslides in Thua Thien Hue province have been cleared for traffic at 2 locations Km21+160 and Km29+700. The landslide at Km13+250 has not been repaired due to rain. However, this is a branch route - a road connecting Khe Tre town, Nam Dong mountainous district of Thua Thien Hue province. Currently, traffic is being guided, divided, and following Provincial Road 14B, so traffic is not affected.
The La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway is over 77km long, passing through high mountainous terrain. Whenever there is heavy rain, landslides occur frequently. Immediately, the local authorities coordinated with the expressway management unit to install warning signs, instructing people and vehicles to avoid and travel safely.
The La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway starts at La Son intersection, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province and ends at Hoa Lien intersection, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city. The project has been put into operation since April 2022.
