Component project 2 opens to traffic before Tet, connecting component project 3 HCMC
On January 10, a delegation from the Ministry of Construction and Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee directly inspected the construction progress of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project, passing through Dong Nai province.
At the inspection at the construction site, representatives of the Ministry of Construction requested that the construction must be organized synchronously, scientifically, ensuring quality, aesthetics, clean, beautiful, safe road surface, ready for traffic to serve people traveling during the Lunar New Year, especially serving people from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai and the eastern sea areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
At the same time, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Long Thanh International Airport.

Reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Director in charge of Project Management Board 85, said: Component project 2 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway phase 1 currently reaches about more than 80% of the construction value. The investor is focusing on completing the main route to synchronize with component project 3, striving to put the section from the intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway extended to the end of component project 3 (section intersecting National Highway 56, Ba Ria ward, Ho Chi Minh City) into operation before the 2026 Lunar New Year.
Component project 2 has a total length of 18.2km, total adjusted investment of 7,622.1 billion VND, started on June 30, 2023. According to the plan, the main route will be completed to be put into use on February 14, 2026 (before Lunar New Year), completing the entire project in April 2026.
Regarding component project 3, which is more than 19.5km long, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Cong Danh, Deputy Director of the Regional Traffic and Agriculture Project Management Board of Ba Ria - Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City) said that the unit is completing related procedures to synchronously open traffic with component project 2, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai before the Lunar New Year.
Component project 1 is constructing overtime to compensate for slow progress
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that component project 1 is about 16km long, implemented with 2 construction packages, mobilizing 12 contractors. To date, the total output value has reached nearly 70% of the contract value; many important items have been and are being implemented simultaneously.

Currently, the weather is more favorable, contractors are working overtime, organizing continuous construction to compensate for slow volume, striving to complete the project on schedule and with quality, contributing to the early formation of a strategic transport axis connecting Dong Nai - Ho Chi Minh City and connecting many areas with Long Thanh International Airport.
The entire Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is 54km long, divided into 3 component projects. In which, the section through Dong Nai province is about 34km long (including component projects 1 and 2) and the section through Ho Chi Minh City (complementary project 3).
Component project 2 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway according to the design, the section from the beginning of the route to Tan Hiep intersection (about Km29+800) has a complete scale of 8 lanes, roadbed width of 39.75m; phased investment phase of 6 lanes, width of 32.25m.
The sections through Long Thanh, airport and Tan Hiep intersections are completed right in phase 1. In which, the airport intersection has a scale of 8 lanes. The section from Tan Hiep intersection to the end of the route is completed with 6 lanes, phased in 4 lanes.
The project has 3 interchanges (Long Thanh, airport, Tan Hiep) and 22 bridge projects, including 4 bridges on the main route, 5 direct overpasses and 13 bridges within the scope of interchanges.
