On August 20, Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction) said that contractors are rushing to complete the final items of the Vung Ang - Bung Expressway project, expected to open to traffic in August 2025.
The main route has been completed, the road surface is technically guaranteed. Currently, the construction unit is implementing industrial sanitation, sweeping up soil and rocks, painting road markings and installing a traffic safety system.
Previously, more than 20m of the remaining fence of Phu Trach commune household was handed over, creating conditions for the entire route to be closed.
When opened to traffic, the Vung Ang - Bung section will be connected seamlessly to the North - South expressway system, shortening travel time, promoting trade and developing the socio-economy of the region.
The Vung Ang - Bung Expressway has a total length of 55.34km, of which the section passing through Ha Tinh province is 12.9km long and the section passing through Quang Tri province is 42.44km long.
The project is invested by Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction), and started construction in January 2023 with a total investment of VND 12,540 billion.
The starting point of the project is at the intersection with National Highway 12C, connecting with Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway in Ky Hoa Commune, Ha Tinh Province and the end point is in Bo Trach Commune, Quang Tri Province, connecting with Bung - Van Ninh Expressway.
The project has a scale of 4 lanes, a 17m wide roadbed, a design speed of 80 - 90 km/h, crossing many complex terrains such as hills, mountains, and large lakes.
