The Vung Ang - Bung expressway is 55.34 km long, passing through Ha Tinh province (12.9 km) and Quang Binh, now Quang Tri (42.44 km) with the starting point intersecting with National Highway 12C, connecting with Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway in Ky Hoa commune (old Ky Tan commune), Ha Tinh province and the end point is in Bo Trach commune (old Cu Nam commune), Quang Tri province, connecting to the Bung - Van Ninh expressway.
The project is invested by Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction). In the investment phased, the expressway has 4 lanes, no emergency lanes, and some emergency stops are arranged at a distance of 4-5km/point with a roadbed width of 17m, designed speed of 60 - 90 km/h.
Taking advantage of favorable weather, in early August, Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company is focusing on speeding up construction progress with the asphalt concrete paving of bridge No. 1 in Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province.
Bridge No. 1 is nearly 1 km long connecting 2 hills across the valley in Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province. This is an important, difficult and complicated item in construction.
The bridge has 2 abutments, 22 spans with bridge piers 30 - 50m high, considered one of the most complicated construction items on the Vung Ang - Bung expressway.

The asphalt concrete paving of bridge No. 1 is being implemented from span 1 to span 11. From span 12 to span 22, the contractor is still completing the final stages such as the construction of bridge railings and expansion joints, before paving with asphalt concrete.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Cuong - Executive Director of the Vung Ang - Bung expressway project said that up to now, the Vung Ang - Bung expressway project has achieved a construction output of nearly 98%.
According to Mr. Cuong, the completion of the 22 spans of the bridge and the asphalt concrete paving is of great significance in completing and opening the project on August 19 in accordance with the plan of the Ministry of Construction.

The Executive Director of the Vung Ang - Bung expressway project also said that bridge No. 1 has begun to be paved with asphalt concrete, however, the workload on this item is still large, while the project opening time is only a few weeks away.
Therefore, requiring high concentration from contractors, investors will also regularly monitor and urge contractors to mobilize maximum human resources, machinery, and equipment to ensure the set progress.
