Overtime payroll
With only a few days left until the deadline to complete and open the Vung Ang - Bung expressway (8.19), the last days of the "water drainage" at the construction site of bridge No. 1 (belonging to the Vung Ang - Bung expressway project) in Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province are very vibrant. The bridge is nearly 1km long with 22 spans, with bridge piers 30-50m high, and is considered one of the most complicated construction items on the route.
Currently, many cranes, cranes and about 40 workers of Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company are focusing on construction. The current tasks are mainly iron welding to pour concrete for bridge railings, installing bridge expansion joints, and placing the median strip between the lane and bridge surface.
Mr. Hoang Van Hung (born in 1978, from Yen Xuan commune, Nghe An province) is a worker at Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company - said that the heat and pressure of progress make it very difficult for technical staff and workers.
"The company divides shifts and teams, many days now work until night before taking a break. It is hard and stressful, but we also feel excited because there are only a few days left until the national key project is completed, Mr. Hung shared.
Ms. Hoang Thi Lan (67 years old, residing in Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province) was hired by the contractor to increase the drainage phase to meet the set schedule.
Ms. Lan and some local women were hired to do sidework such as cutting foam boards and inserting them into the iron holes to place moldboards and pouring concrete for the bridge railings.
"We have been hired to work here for nearly a month, and are paid 400,000 VND per day. The work is not hard but the sun is too hot, so it is very tiring, Ms. Lan shared.
Efforts to complete in time for traffic opening
Mr. Hoang Van Son - technical officer in charge of construction of Joint Stock Company 479 said that in order to complete the project in time for traffic on August 19, the brothers at the bridge No. 1 construction site have made great efforts, tried hard, worked overtime, increased shifts, and worked all night.
Currently, the unit is focusing on completing the pouring of concrete for the railing of the last few spans on the bridge, while the asphalt concrete section is basically almost finished, with only about 120m left unpaved and will be paved in the next few days.
Mr. Son also affirmed that up to now, the construction items of bridge No. 1 have basically been completed, ensuring the progress to open to traffic on August 19 according to the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Construction.
According to the leader of the Vung Ang - Bung Expressway Project Management Board, to date, the entire route has achieved a construction output of about 99%. In particular, the bridge No. 1 - the bridge over the valley in Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province is of great significance in completing and putting into operation this expressway on the occasion of August 19.
The Vung Ang - Bung expressway is 55.34km long, passing through Ha Tinh province (12.9km) and Quang Tri (42.44km) with the starting point intersecting with National Highway 12C, continuing with Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway in Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province and the end point is in Bo Trach commune, Quang Tri province, connecting to the Bung - Van Ninh expressway.
The project is invested by Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction). In the investment phase, the expressway has 4 lanes, no emergency lanes, and some emergency stops are arranged at a distance of 4-5km/point with a roadbed width of 17m, designed speed of 60 - 90km/h.
