All stilt houses are made of wood by contractors, many wooden trees with diameters from 20-40cm are used to erect pillars, beams, and roofs, suitable for the traditional stilt house characteristics of the people.
Mr. Pham Van Duc - Chairman of Ia Tul Commune People's Committee - said: The commune is determined to start construction of all houses before August 31st, complete house handover before November 2nd to bring 207 households to new residences before floods occur in the area, avoiding the risk of affecting people's lives.
In which, 55 poor and near-poor households were supported to build new stilt houses with a cost of 220 million VND/unit, ensuring both adaptation to floods and suitability with customs and culture.

In 2025, Gia Lai province suffered two serious natural disasters including storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) and heavy rain and floods in November. The whole province has many residential areas deeply flooded; more than 57,000 houses flooded; 28,196 houses collapsed, fallen, swept away or heavily damaged, requiring urgent construction and repair.
Total estimated damage is over 11,500 billion VND, of which storm No. 13 caused damage of over 10,000 billion VND, and the flood caused damage of about 1,500 billion VND.
